FREE TREE STEWARD TRAINING
Arborists and urban foresters Andy Hillman and Emily Hamilton of Davey Resource Group will be instructors. This course is part of a Challenge Grant awarded to the city from the Mass. Dept. Of Conservation and Recreation.
Classes will be 2 hours in length and consist of tree biology, tree identification, tree planting, tree stewardship, and plant health.
Start date is Thursday, February 23, 7-9 p.m., and every Thursday for a total of 6 classes, plus 3 outdoor sessions on Saturday. The dates and times for the outdoor sessions are TBA.
Free for Fall River residents with exception of $15 for registration to BCC.
Info at Bristol Community College under noncredit course Home & Garden. After completion of course, volunteers are expected to provide 20 hours per year to tree planting/maintenance. |
